About Me

My photo
Dear friends, We began this blog in the summer of 2012 when our family was called to step "out" of our "normal" life as we lived it in Carrollton Texas and serve for 3 months at Housesofhope.org orphanage in Zacapa, Guatemala. A simple blog for our friends and family to stay in touch during our short journey. Since that season we have decided we will use this as a means to continue to log our journey, share our stories and create a platform to champion what inspires us. We hope you enjoy and pray that you are encouraged into action and deeper reflection on family and faith.

Typing with Wil

Mom and dad finally got back from their trip into Rio Dulce.  The trip was originally supposed to take 6 hours, turned into a 12hour trip.  Left at 9:00a.m, came back at 10:00.  I don't know if we told you about the windows or not so I am going to tell you anyway. There are 21 windows in this house and each window has 14 pains of glass.  I have included a photo.  (sorry it is sideways)  So when they cut the glass they didn't sand the edges.  So we had to do it.  It was "work day Saturday".  It took 5 people 2hours to do 3 and a half windows.  It was a lot of work.  And the next day when I was closing a window, one of the pains fell out of the window.  And broke.  So now we are going to have to go into town to buy a new one.  And now, it is apparently my fault that it is broke!  But I said, "If someone else had closed it besides me, it would have fallen out too!  Then would it have been their fault?!"  Now I don't close the window until it has been closed by some one else first.
I notice that some of you guys have commented on our blog. Thanks!  But sadly, we can not view them right now.  I'm sure they are great, and I hope to figure out how to view them soon.

Time for dinner,
Type to you guys soon,
Wil
