About Me

My photo
Dear friends, We began this blog in the summer of 2012 when our family was called to step "out" of our "normal" life as we lived it in Carrollton Texas and serve for 3 months at Housesofhope.org orphanage in Zacapa, Guatemala. A simple blog for our friends and family to stay in touch during our short journey. Since that season we have decided we will use this as a means to continue to log our journey, share our stories and create a platform to champion what inspires us. We hope you enjoy and pray that you are encouraged into action and deeper reflection on family and faith.

typing with wil

Today has been surprisingly cool (temperature wise).  We Skyped Gigi this morning and showed her what she was getting into.  We talked to her for 1hour and 30Min.  Right after that,  Mom, dad, and Josue went into town.  the trip was supposed to take 6 hours max.  They left at 9:00a.m and it is now 8:30p.m.  They are supposed to arrive at 9:00.  We will see if they make it.  There was some lightning over in the mountain.  After watching the lovely view we had of the lightning, we remembered that if it was going to rain we needed to prepare the houses.  So we closed the windows,  picked up every thing out side,  tied down the things left out side.  (the storms in Guatemala are 87% worse here than in the states) But of course, it didn't rain.  No pictures today, my mom and dad brought the camera into town with them.  I can blog tomorrow and post pictures if you want.  We have had no more accidents with the stove. (but we walk by with caution)
There was your small update.  I will post pictures tomorrow if you want to. You can also skype if you want to see Guatemala for your self.  My skype name ( woodchipwil )

Type to you guys soon,
 totally sun burnt,
Wil

Ever stop to think, and forget to start again?
