About Me
- Anderson Family Life
- Dear friends, We began this blog in the summer of 2012 when our family was called to step "out" of our "normal" life as we lived it in Carrollton Texas and serve for 3 months at Housesofhope.org orphanage in Zacapa, Guatemala. A simple blog for our friends and family to stay in touch during our short journey. Since that season we have decided we will use this as a means to continue to log our journey, share our stories and create a platform to champion what inspires us. We hope you enjoy and pray that you are encouraged into action and deeper reflection on family and faith.

Typical morning
(Jeana) The sun rises really early here. Light starts over the mountains before 5. This makes the days start earlier. Today is a typical day. By 7:30 I have washed a load of laundry and hung it out to dry in my "pila" (outdoor laundry basin). I have broom swept the entire exterior of la casa, the entire interior of the la casa and have scrubbed the floors in the main part of la casa. Made coffee and checked email. Started breakfast. Had some sweet time with 3 of the kids that live here. Raul just showed up and we are going to file all the window glass today so I gotta get off here. I'll blog later about this filing process. Basically, there are 23 windows en la casa and there are 13 panes of glass in each window and each pane must be sanded . . . . hmmmmm. Somehow, I'm sure there will be a trip into "town" required which will derail the entire project for today . . . that's how it goes here. Every task is a story.
